I am going to Winnibigosh for a long weekend and was wondering if anyone could let me know what the bite has been like and help where and what has been working!

    Thanks

I was up on Winni fishing in the MTT back on July 22-23. We had a difficult time catching fish. The few we caught were shallow in less than 10 fow pulling spinner’s and minnow’s.

Good luck, hope you have better luck than we did.

If you don’t mind a mixed bag with a lot of small pike and a few walleyes mixed in, running cranks on the weed edge on the South end is a good bet. In the evening if you locate an are holding some fish, throw some K-tails or some big tube jigs into the weed edge and rip them back to the boat. I’ve gotten a couple real nice walleyes and pike doing that. You may get bit off a few times, but using powerpro will help a little bit.

    Good Luck!

I was up for the 2 day MTT this past weekend and trolling cranks was working for us. Most people struggled, we did pretty fair. Saturday we caught about 20 fish with 10 being keeper size. Sunday we had 10 too big again but only 3 keepers. We had also been up that whole week prior and the crank bite got going for us when that hot spell moved out and got better as the week went on so i would think in the right areas that would still be going. We did fish the north humps a few mornings, running and gunning too different spots and caught fish on about half of them rigging crawlers. They seemed too be either too big or 12-13″ers from what we found though.
