Low water levels…..Be careful on Opening Weekend

Water levels seem to be extremely low this year. The boat landings will be slow in most cases, but more importantly be careful when traveling on the water.

Remember that the slot limit on Winnie is 17-26″ all of these fish must go back.

Also, by the sounds of things the silver spot-tail shiners may be tough to get, so be prepared for that when coming into town. As of now, Ben’s Bait and Fred Bait will have a few. If you don’t get shiners, don’t be afraid of buying the rainbow chubs or fatheads. They both work great, but if you can get the shiners, make sure they are the small to medium size ones, if they are the large ones, get yourself some chubs. The gap and the North shore of winnie should be great this weekend, but with the winter like weather moving in again tonight, the water temps are going to stay cold. With cold water temps come the slow presentations.

Good Luck…..Be careful….the water is extremely low.
