The Jumbo perch seem to be active. Good reports of perch being caght just about everywhere. On the South end of the lake the perch are active on the snag hole, and other spots to try are Moses and Horseshoe. The shoreline bite on the east and west shore seem to bo holding there own as well. If your heading to winnie soon stay away from the river inlets, I would recommend ATV or foot travel with the warm weather we are having this week.

    Hey Sean!

Thanks for the spots. Ben’s Bait in Grand Rapids is a real nice place with a vdery good selection of bait. I am not so sure about those orange minnows though!

We spent the weekend fishing the trough leading to Federal BAr on Winnie. We had very good action all day Saturday using green forage minnows tipped with a minnow head. We caught perch from 14ft. to 22ft. We also had a couple tip-ups out, catching perch and northerns. Few walleye, all in the slot. NIce healthy looking fish I might say.

We managed a few nice size perch, but no REAL jumbos per-say. A few people did manage some 1 1/2 pounders out from Judd’s.

The guys that took the tourney, drove all of the way to cut-foot and nailed the bluegills, sunfish and crappies. The point system highly favored panfish, making it somewhat unequitable. Weather was great Saturday, then a front came in SUnday, slowing things down considerably.

    Thanks again for the help!!!

Man-o-man, I wish that I knew you could fish panfish, I would have had you come to Cutfoot, I was out there all day Saturday, the bite was great. Well If this happens again, we will have to discuss exactly what is legal for the tourney. Well hopefully some of my suggestion helped.
