IDA is thrilled to announce the addition of a new site sponsor and source of quality lake condition & fishing information for Lake Winnibigoshish!

Jeff & Laura Starck, owners of Tamarack Lodge, will be moderating this forum and supplying fishing reports from this tremendous body of water.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak with Jeff & Laura and they both strike me as incredibly kind and willing to help out our members with quality fishing information.

For those interested, they have a wesbite on-line at Tamarack Lodge or you can jump directly to their site by clicking on their banner located directly below. What you will find is a VERY nice resort offering large cabins, a protected harbor and plenty of scenic views of the lake and nearby woods!

Please take the time to welcome Jeff & Laura. Let’s help them feel at home here on IDA.

    Welcome Jeff & Laura!

I just checked out their website Great rates and some really neat cabins. The scenery there look spectacular as well. That looks like a great place to get away from the concrete jungle and spend some R&R

The winter perch fishing there can be exceptional. I used to take early ice trips there and we always seemed to be able to get into a pile of nice perch near the Dishes or we would make the trip back into Macavity (sp?) Bay if the main lake fish were slow. We had some awesome days back there in Cut Foot.

On the main lake the water’s quite clear so we could sight fish the pike when they were in fairly shallow water… 8 – 10 feet or less.

    Lots o’ fun.

Hello Everyone…Wow what a great welcome!! Laura and I are really looking forward to providing information to the folks on this forum. Special thanks to the IDA staff for the excellent customer service we have received so far.

Laura and I and our 3 kids are lucky enough to live and work on one of the finest lakes in the country. We truly are living our dream and we are looking forward to providing any information we can about the lake and the area.

We do want to let everyone know that first and foremost, we are Resort Owners. That means that we pretty much work 24/7/365 which doesn’t leave a lot of time for fishing. We will however post fishing reports on a regular basis that will be based on how our guests are doing and will be verified by the ultimate test….”What’s showing up in the GUT BUCKETS” In addition, we are in regular contact with the other resorts on the lake and local fishing guides so we will do our best to give the best reports possible.

Looking forward to helping everyone enjoy the time they spend on Winnie. Feel free to stop by and say hello if you’re in the area.

    Jeff

Welcome Jeff & Laura Starck. I have coming to Lake Winnie for the past 7+ years and have always been treated very well by any resort owner I have dealt with. We are head north on the 9th and will be watching this thread closely.
Thanks in advance for all you have to offer.
