Just finished a weeks vacation on Winnie. The hot bite for the week seemed to be Mallard Point, with the fish starting to slide south a little more each day. Over the first weekend we had a good bite in 16′ off Highbanks, but that seems to have died lately. Days that were to windy we fished Cut Foot and did OK. If you worked at it you could put together a pretty good bunch of fish.

With out a doubt a Northland Fireball with red hook, and shiner was the best presentation, although we took a nice limit Sunday on Cut Foot with crawlers.

My biggest suprise or concern is why the east side seems so dead. The Dishs, Plug Hat, Tamarack, Bowens Flats all seemed real quiet. I’m thinking that could change when the water warms.

    Keep a tight line! Tom
