I’m going up 8/20 to our cabin on Cass and hope that someone has a good report about Winnie. I like to go over there for 1 day each time I’m up. The numbers are usually better than Cass (walleyes and jumbo! perch). I always fish the west side from the Mississippi all the way up and around to the Pidgeon. Anybody been on Sugar bar, Raven point or the Rock pile in 3rd river recently? I’m hearing good reports from Pidgeon to High Banks but, in a NW wind its hell getting back to the National Forest Campground from there. I’m not a wimp but, unless its raining I’m not a big fan of getting drenched seeing as I have a tiller. Any report would be great! Thanks!

    Gilly,
The bite remains consistently good. Sugar Bar upto MAllard point on the West shore has some good numbers of pike, jumbo perch and walleyes. We have found the best bite to be on jigs and minnows in or near the weed egdes and worms and leeches for those deeper fish off of Sugar.
Wind is impostant with the shallow fish, but if your concentrating on the West shore most of the spots that you metioned have been good the last week or so. Good luck..

Thanks very much for the report! I’ve only been up 1 time so far this year (1st week of June), but I usually almost live on the west side of Winnie and the north side of Cass (Pug Hole and McDonald Lake shoreline). Getting really excited to get up there. Thanks again.
