Planning a trip to Winnie….

FW and I are planning a trip to Winnie in June, I only have a weekend to fish, and am trying to put a plan together. I get the idea that a jig and minnow is the way to go in the spring, with a switch toward lindy rigs as the water warms up. When the various authors talk about near shore flats, are they talking about between the weed lines and the break to deeper water? Every thing else that I am hearing about makes sense, but the navionics app does not show the near shore structure very well. Any help would be appreciated.

The first couple weeks of June can be really good. I have never fished much shallower than 8-10 feet after Memorial Day and I have had some good days out on the humps in June. Don’t overlook spinners and crawlers at that time of year, that combination will put some fish in the boat for you.
