By the sounds of recent reports I should have been further South. Maybe my misfortune can save you. Surface temps 60-65, 1.8-2.5mph
Dropped in a bit late, 8am and started working my way N towards Couple of Harbors. There is a string of 3 nets set up in almost a road block just N of the Island at Knife.
Put riggers down to 100 initially and hugged bottom to 200 as I went around the nets. Let out a 3 color and long line as well in hopes of a HO or maybe an elusive KIng. Marked fish on bottom as the 150′ shelf dropped near the nets. Kept on workin toward 2 HRBS from 200 and working into 50′ by the end getting nothing and marking very few bottom fish.
Ran back to Knife and trolled half way to McQuade, running bottom riggers hugging at 100′ and pulling a 5 core and full core on boards. Only got 1 18″ laker near Stoney Pt. on a rigger spoon that looks like a version of blue/green Monkey puke.
Radio chatter on reports was very grimm with most boats only having 1-3 fish in the box, landing reports were poor as well.
Atleast it was a nice day and I got back to the Gitch finally after being away for a month or so, atleast I dint get the skunk.
