Today is the last day of Laker season. Headed out in about 15 minutes for onelast try. Hopefully we can get a few in the boat early and switch to salmon. Wish me luck, report to follow this evening.

My fishing buddy and I finished our Laker season with 5 fish today (allowed 3 each). We lost 4 others, landed 3 nice ones about 8-12 lbs, one little guy about 2 lbs and a 5-6 lber. The two I put in the boat are getting ready to go on the smoker.

I took a pic of them in the livewell with my phone.

Fish you have recipe for a brown sugar lakers in the somker????

Tried it in Grand Marias and it was great. Tried to make it close and it turned out nothing like the commerical fisherman make.

If you have something I would be very thankfull

Just my own concoction. I rarely use a recipe for marinades or soups or stews…season to taste. Lemme seeif

I can give you an aproximate ….

    1/2 cup OJ
    1/4 cup teryaki
    2 cups brown sugar
    1 cup water

this was pretty much what I used…plus a little citrus seasoning and a dash of liquid smoke.

BTW I use apple wood for the “smoke”. Hope it works for you. I actually don’t have the patience to wait 12-24 hours for actual smoked fish. Mine are kinda half smoked, half baked.

I have time to wait. Put it in before I bow hunt and it should be ready just in time to eat after the sun goes down!!

    Thanks again
