Ice and Fish report

Just a note in case someone is looking to catch a trout. There has been fishable ice in front of the French River for about the last three days and they have been catching some fish. This ice can disappear fairly quickly so you may want to call marine general in duluth for a up to date report. But if you are in the neighborhood it is probably worth a look.

This is like fishing in an aquarium! Very, VERY clear, and shallow. You can see everything happening. You have to fish these guys like you are deer hunting! Looper jigs and waxies on 6-8 pound flouro. Hop and lift. If you spot a fish….hold steady, and slooooowly lift up. If and when they hit, have someone with at least a little knowledge of CPR handy for you!!!
