Heading up to grand marais this weekend. This is my first trip to the north shore this year. I have been focusing most my salmon fishing on lake michigan this year. Does anyone have any tips or info? Riggers, dipseys, or leadcore? Stickbaits or spoons? Colors? Depth to run baits and how many f.o.w? Any ifo would be appriciated. Thanks

Perfect timing to be heading up!!

Do yourself two things. Stop into Marine General in Duluth and stock up on some smaller orange and yellow spoons. I like the Jims Flashback spoon. Size n1 and n2. And also grab some Rapala J’9’s in orange.

Secondly, the fish are down 20 to 40 feet, so rig up some 832 Advanced Leadcore on your reels, or else get some 4 ounce snap weights. PLaner boards have outfished dispeys and riggers 50/1 as of late for me.

The salmon have been going good in Grand Marais for a few days now. Stay in close to shore, and you should have plenty of luck!

    Any other questions just holler!

I have two 10 colors one 7 one 4 and one 2 color spooled. If fish are 20 to 40 I will run the 4 and 7. How deep of water are they in? 60?? Or farther out in the low 100s? What bottom depth should I target? Thanks
