Who makes a good Looper Bug jig? Where can you buy them in the Duluth area? What colors work best.
    Thanks,
    Chuck

Those things are fantastic! Couple of waxies under a Looper bobber, and you are stylin’!

This guy does an incredible bug.

I just returned from the cabin and sunk a couple of these with waxies. I didn’t get out until mid-day any day I fished and basically missed the bite but limits of cohos were leaving the breakwater. The wind had some crazy wave action happening while we were there. Casting was all but impossible.

The rivers are all but dry and the steelhead and loopers are finding a tough time with low water. On the French River the dnr is removing some of the steelhead from the stripping traps and trucking them upstream so some natural reproduction will occur, because the fish don’t have enough water to get to where spawning occurs. Its darned dry up there.

Smelters were at the Stewart River this morning, but they didn’t have very good conditions for netting. Again, terribly low water and what water this is is still too cold.

Back to Jeff’s handiwork. He does a great fly and a person can’t hardly make these for what a couple cost.
