I think in the past 24 hours i have found myself saying “please no west wind” around 500 times. Right now we have ice that is covering the whole south shore of Wisconsin, and up to 15th ave east or so in Duluth. I saw someone walking out of it yesterday. Thats the good news.
Bad news, well the forecast states 36 degree temps, rain, and west winds around 10 knots. NOT what i wanted to hear but i will be checking ice in a few hours here to see what it is like. There is a chance the ice could stay here, but my guess is it will be gone by tomorrow. Stay tuned for updates, and if it is here tomorrow, expect to see an on ice lake trout and salmon clip

Don’t do it! If you do, I’ll be there in time to unhook your fish!

I’ve been watching webcams and satelite photos since last winter! Can’t wait to do it again!

A bit premature Grant. Ice was at 21st when I hit the general yesterday and when I drove back home it was all wide open again. I seriously doubt we will get fishable ice on the big lake in this area this season.
I dont like ice thats only around for a day. Not worth it.
I sure wish we would get some reliable ice on the SS so we could hit some eyes out there.
