Lake trout fishing is pretty good right now on the north shore. Numbers with some size mixed in makes for a fun day of fishing. As of 2 days ago, there was clear water and murky water. The murky water is 10 to 15 degrees warmer than the clear water with a lot more food throughout the water column. There are obviously fish in there but I have been having better luck in the clear water. Boards are still producing very good. Was out all day on the 4th, and got fish 160 feet down on riggers, 40 feet on dipseys, and on boards, but most of the action was on boards. Anything sliver is good along with any lure with dots on a white background. Right now I have been going out to 300 feet of water and starting from there. seems like every time out you have the opportunity of a 12 plus pound fish, whether you get it in the net or not is a different story. Good luck this weekend and be safe. Oh ya, there are still some salmon around in the clear water too. The lake trout seem to be on in the morning, then slow down and then turn back on a little later in the day as of late.

Thanks for the report, we’ll be fishing out of the Knife River marina Sunday. Looking forward to it!

Awesome, good luck! Hopefully the south winds subside for Sunday!
