Fished some of the southern lakes over the weekend. Not too many walleye jumping in the boat, but many small catfish, a bunch of decent crappies, perch, and even a nice bass or two. The pic is my brother-in-law with his first ever musky. Picked up this FAT 42 incher up on a “classic” musky pattern – bottom bouncing crawlers/spinners.

    Fun!

Yup. I don’t know that area very well, but I assume there aren’t too many other musky lakes in the area?? I know Fox gets stocked – at least since the mid 90’s – with ski’s. Nice little lakes to fish, though. We had a great time and got the kids out catching some crappies and sheepies too.

Not many other muskie lakes in the area in MN gotta go south across the border to the Iowa Great Lakes to get on muskies other than Fox. We fish fox a few times a year, so far your 1 up on me there, I’m spoiled with my deep clear cool waters at home here in Iowa. Plus haven’t got my MN license yet.
