I wanted to add another post on the recent fishing. I was out again three days last week. Two of the days we did quite well and one was really slow. If the wind doesn’t blow on these shallow lakes don’t bother showing up, at least that is the experience I am having. I took my mom and dad out on Tuesday and we had a blast, we pulled planer boards with spinners/crawlers and cranks, our best colors for cranks have been anything perch colored all thou most have worked somewhat. My mom hadn’t fished in ten years and she had a blast, the first picture is of her and a typical smaller fish. She couldn’t believe the planer boards and how they worked. When the wind gets going you can catch some of these fish right on the shoreline. The second picture is of my dad and myself with two fish we picked up right off of a point. So far I have not found more than three specific spots that are holding fish, I have been marking a few rocks with my side imaging unit and these do seem to hold a few fish but are very small and there are very few of them. On wednesday I was able to get my buddy out with me and we about twenty small fish and a couple of 15-18 inchers. We will be going out tonight and try a few different things.
The only thing I have noticed is that you need to keep changing baits as the first two days the cranks did very well and on wednesday the spinner/crawlers were on fire. Also, once a bunch of boats move into an area it can die very quickly. Hopefully this bite will continue. I have heard of a few lakes like this one that are doing really well, a buddy of mine lives by Marshall and stated a lake similar to this one is kicking out big eyes on a torrid pace. I would put the name of the lake up but he may drive over and kill me. So if you have a shallow lake with some walleyes in it give it a shot.

    Good luck to everyone.
