oh there is A LOT of fish there trust me! They are schooled up big time! Running average around 18″ to 20″ troll shad raps on boards to find them than work them with slip bobber and leech once you loose the school troll again

So you caught quite a few then, I trolled with 3 boards out for about five hours without a bite, didn’t see any fish caught either. I did see a lot on the new hummingbird side finder but could not get so much as a touch

Yep, that was me in the channel 6 boat. We went out and tried a couple of spots on the big lake in the east bay, but like most of the other boats didn’t even get a sniff. We also tried in the deeper channel, but only caught one big buffalo.
I’m thinking with the warm temps and the shallow water, the bite might have been better during the night or really early morning. The fish may have shut off during the day. Believe me… they ARE there! The DNR net survey was unbelievable and the ice fishermen can attest to the number of walleyes in Albert Lea Lake.
I ended up loading the boat and heading over to Fountain Lake. We finished with 3 walleyes there, all about 14-15 inches, about a dozen big bluegills, 2 crappies and a catfish. It turned out to be a beautiful opener!

All fish were caught one hour before sunset till 1 hour after sunset with glow sticks on the boards I borrowed from a buddy I need to go get me some boards again after mine got jacked out my boat 2 years ago caught one casting a bomber A as well on a SLIGHT hump since there is very little structure bottom contour wise on this lake. I am just starting to get familiar with the area and plan to smoke the lake this year and see what it has to offer for local fishing being it is the closest lake to Grand Meadow there is for me
