In-laws now have a lot on Tetonka. I hope to learn this lake this summer. Is it too early to crank? Any Tetonka masters have any kind of a heads up for me as I try to avoid the big skunk on our first walleye outing of the year on this lake? I have no idea of the depth tendancies of fish in this lake, or whether or not to live bait, bobber, rig, or to crank. My main concern is the depth they are at on this lake at this time of year. If anyone has a heads up in this area or any other area I would greatly appreciate it through PM or here. Hopefully have a report and pictures on Sunday or Monday for ya.

Fish out in front of the inlet where water enters the lake. Some people use jigs and minnows or slip bobbers and minnows in 14-16 ft, and I have caught them using a bottom bouncer with a spinner and crawler trolling out front and down a little ways to the west in deep water [24-26 ft]. Also check out the canals as the water warms fast there.
Let us know how you do.
    Thanks, Bill

As the season gets going, fish shallower and shallower. If the wind blows really really hard going into the bays for two to three days a jig and minnow cast into a foot or two thru the weeds can be dynamite. The bass fishing on this lake can be awesome, and there are some giant bluegilles. PM me if you want to fish together some time, we have had a cabin on there since I was like four years old, so I have had my share of good and really bad days on that lake.
