This might be a silly post but could someone post (or email) where one might be able to get some nice pearch (12-13 inches) in the area? Hanska use to have them. I’ve heard Loon Lake in Crystal has or use to have them. One would think that a lake or two could produce some size. I guess I could buy a can of gold paint and spray the eyes I catch on Madison.

There used to be some great perch on Canon – but they were very nomadic. Not sure if they are still there, or if they have been fished out.

I have caught perch on Cannon Lake trolling cranks and also bottom bouncers with spinners looking for walleyes. We were trolling the bay across from the public landing going west to the next big point. Weird, but thats what they were caught on. Thanks, Bill

This was a couple of years ago and they were 8-10 inch perch. I hear there are still perch there though. I haven’t fished that area since then. Mainly work the rock bar on the east end [Fairbault side] of the lake for walleyes when I go there. Good luck and if you go there let us know how you do. Thanks, Bill

Cannon Perch are running about 10-12″ and well rounded. Not many though. I’ve only managed 2-3 per outing. I usually hit one on a #5 Shad Rap (firetiger) and then go back and pitch 1/16 or 1/8 oz. jigs at them tipped with minnows or 1/2 crawler. You generally get blasted by pike when you find a couple perch though. Good Luck. TGIF
