This is my first time posting a lake report, but here it goes.

We pulled in to Hunts lake (between rice and french lake) at about 8:00. It was pretty foggy out and there where about three other boats around. Last time we fished here was about 5 years ago. I dont ever remember fishing here before. We found some weeds on the south side and dropped minnows, nightcrawlers, and some leaches. I caught the first keeper sunny jigging off the bottom with a crappie minnow. The minnows were about to pop their eggs. I sqeezed a couple on accident and there was eggs everywhere. We even caught a sunny on a leech. My uncle caught a sheep head and some small bass. We came home with a half a dozen good quality sunnys. Pretty good for not knowing where to go on this lake. I dont know the exact temp of the water but when I put my hand in the water it was warm. This site is great any questions I have a boom there is the answer I need.

I fished Hunt last winter and had some luck with the crappies and a bunch of 2-4 lb northerns, I’ll go back again, fished it once in the summer 2 yrs ago, heard there was some nice bass in it, caught a few smaller ones but nothing to brag about. I had an old timer tell me the sunfish are really nice on Hunt.

Thanks Bud, keep em comin. Sometimes I think those lakes that don’t have resorts on them, which means not as much pressure, are the sleeper lakes with some good fish in them. Thanks, Bill
