Got a chance to hit Mazaska about 10a.m. today and drilled about 75-100 holes!! My arms hurt!!

Finally found a good school about 1pm and just started having fun. I used a custom jig and spins ratso(green) and a red buckshot. I fished in 20-25 fow and the action was darn near non stop until 4-5pm and then they just shut down.. I kept 6 fish all between 10.5 to 13.5. I have included the pic of the 13.5. Also got stopped by the dnr today and checked out. Very nice guy and easy to talk with. All fish caught were suspended in the water column 1-12 feet. Thanks Mike

Thanks for the report and pic. Were the fish on the bottom or suspended? Were you using waxies or minnows? Sounds like you had them very well dialed in.
    Thanks, Bill

They were suspended 1-12 feet in the water column and used minnow heads, tried waxies and spikes but no luck. Thanks Mike

I will when he takes me fishing on Big Stone!
Just kidding! Brian is a great guy and knows his business very well!

So, do you ever fish the Shields creek for crappies?

Or around the island on Roberts in the summer when it starts turning dark and the panfish come into the shallow water around the island on the deeper water side of the island. Lots of fun with lighted bobbers. I’ve caught my biggest crappies on Mazaska while trolling Lindy #5 crankbaits in open water. For bluegills the lillypads are great. Got any fish stories you want to share about fishing on lakes in that area? Theres a bunch of good lakes in that area.
    Thanks, Bill

Gary- No I have not ever tried that? Maybe ill give her a whirl.

And I have never had to much luck on roberds for fish of size? Although I have not put a bunch of time into that lake. Thanks Mike

They are there. I have not been able to get many of them during the winter though either. Late summer can be darn good for monster bulls though if you know where to look.

Lets here those fish stories guys. There a bunch of people out there who fish these lakes. I’m not asking/looking for spots. Just stories on you catching the fish and having fun doing it. Please feel free to add pics too if you like.
    Thanks, Bill
