April 7, 2003 at 1:08 pm #263413Ok this is working… now to get my boat out and get that working! Wonder if I remember how to get to Tetonka…
DaveApril 8, 2003 at 11:19 pm #263609I believe you just have to hook up your boat and start the van and it should know its way there automatically. Looking forward to the fishing report, hint hint. Thanks, Bill

When are you going to get out on the water? Between you, Hawger, and TGIF I am looking for some crappie reports since I can’t get out on the water this weekend. I want to know that someone is catching fish on my home water in Rice County???
Good Luck Boys,

April 12, 2003 at 1:47 pm #263925The Guide…
I gotta tell you about this paticular Bass here…
She busted a 1/32 oz. jig head dressed with a 1″ Mr. Twister white grub that was coated with Kick’n Bass GARLIC scent. I oten use these plastics to locate schools of active Crappie. Anyway on with the story…
First fish of the day… and about the fourth cast… I was using a Jig-A-Whopper ultra- ultra-light rod that has the fastest tip I have ever seen… very very small diameter and plum “winpie” tip… but a blast on panfish. The four pound test and rod made this fish a real battle… and she took… f o r e v e r … to come to the boat. One of them heart pumping, gotta sit down and recover… type fish… man, what a blessing to have a day start like that.
Netted her, rested her in the livewell, took some quick shots… and back she in the drink she went. Check the head on this fish… she could eat a pop can sideways! Nearly a two-fister!
Cool thing was, I saw one taken later that day that was just as big! A fellow in an Alumacraft right next to me stuck a big one… way cool.
I also took a couple of Pike on the plastics before I went to the bobbers, having found the school. The school by the way, was not in shallows… rather, it was out in the open bay and in about three feet of water… 40 yards from the shore. They were too negitave to chase the plastics much, but… were suckers for a bobber & minnow.
Hope that you get to go soon too… this will last a couple of days to a week or so.. or till we get a real cold snap… then it will start up again with warmer weather and sun till spawn time ends.
Fun

[email protected]April 13, 2003 at 10:20 pm #263989Nice fish Hoggie. Eric told me he is buying your 14ft. boat. What did you get? Brian, was at Red Wing Mississippi River Friday and Sat. [first 2 days on the water ]. Great report from Hoggie. Sounds like he had fun. Save some for us Hoggie. What color boat so we can find the hot bite [where you are at ]. Thanks, Bill
April 15, 2003 at 2:43 am #264153Hawger,
Nice Bass! It is always nice to catch a mixed bag…keeps you on your toes. I don’t have school this Friday and hopefully the weather will cooperate for me…I think this might be one of the last opportunities for me to get down river until the middle of May….so Friday I have Pool 4 in mind. I will let you know how I do if I go.
Continued Success this season
April 15, 2003 at 2:45 am #264155Bill,
Glad to hear that you were able to get out this past weekend. I had to pay for me new tackle somehow….so I was stuck working but hopefully Friday of this week I will be able to get down to Red Wing. How did you do on the river this weekend? Was it the normal zoo?
April 15, 2003 at 2:53 am #264159It was a zoo for sure. Tons of boats, but tons of fun. Caught all my legal fish on superdoos, smaller fish on jig and minnow. Had alot of fun and the biggest was a 3.25 lb. sauger. Some people caught alot and some not much. Was a great weekend to be on the water. First weekend for me so I have some catching up to do. Look forward to your report when you get back from fishing. Thanks, Bill
April 21, 2003 at 11:19 am #264734Good job Hawger. Nice report Give me a call we should go fishing together soon.
