EFN is thrilled to announce the latest addition to its growing Field Staff Team, Brian Lauwers… or as he’s better known on FTL – TGIF!
A little about Brian…
I’m married with 2 children (daughter 6 and son 4). My daughter caught her first sunfish at 18 months old and my son caught his first walleye when he was 13 months old. I have been fishing since I was 2 or 3 years old and have had the opportunity to spend a good portion of my life in the outdoors through fishing, hunting, and working on farms. I remember being 6 years old and riding my one speed bike out to a creek to catch minnows on hook and line for bait and watering the lawn for hours nearly every afternoon so I could catch crawlers after dark. At age 6 I was the busiest bait shop in town…river run minnows and crawlers by the dozen for 25 cents. I had guys buying 6 dozen at a time.
I enjoy fishing for many species of fish, but prefer walleyes. I have fished on many southern MN lakes, as well as Pool 4, Mille Lac, Leech, and some South Dakota lakes in the past two years. I like to promote resource management and selective harvest…I like to eat fish on occasion, but I won’t put a big fish of any species under the knife. I have a 4 year old son who loves to fish either in a boat or on the ice and he’s frequently been with me when conditions warranted for the past 2 years.
I would like to see some minimum size limits on some southern mn lakes for walleyes. I would like to see more done as well to clean up these lakes.
I am a member of the Walleye Seacher’s Club in Rochester, MN.
Brian will be co-moderating the Southern MN Lakes Forum with Hawger is looks to be an incredible source of info for those of us that frequent this area.
So everyone, welcome Brian to the EFN Field Staff Team…! We’re thrilled to have you working with us!~
