One of my room-mates and I went out after crappies last night. The resort on Best point is not letting people access there this winter, so we put in at the public access near the hatchery ponds. We had to be very careful because of the open water off South of the access and North of Best point. We fished all around the Reef NW of Best resort, unfortunately we caught no crappies. We did catch about eight walleyes in the six to ten inch range and a mean buzz. Anybody fishing the area found a consistent Crappie bite? I know that Third Point on Washington is producing well but I hate the crowds.
