What can i do to catch more fish at lake Kohlmier

    I fish there most every weekend i catch northern and barely any perch. What can i do more to catch quanitity fish like crappie I know where they are in a boat but i can get a hold of them know. What do you suggest

    Try another lake? Kohlmier is a small lake and it can only produce to a certain degree of quality. Broaden your horizon and jump onto some other area lakes. TGIF

    Stay away from live bait… use Mr. Twister tails in white 1 1/2″ or 2″ and small jig heads.

    Most sunnies will pass on these and you’ll get more crappies. Trick is to use a tiny jig head and rise and fall approach and feel for the “tic” of a crappie… be ready to set the hook… scent will help him hold the plastic longer too.

    Beetle spins will get these crappie too, go as small as you can. Fire line will improve your “feel” using hte spins in open water.

    Do you have a permanent ice house set up on Kohlmier?
