Ice fishing set back another 2-3 days

    The wind blew most of the ice apart overnight on lakes like Shields, Mazaska, Cannon, etc. It looks like a few more days of waiting. Don’t be fooled by ice that is piled up….it can freeze in awkward positions and be much weaker than what you believe it to be. If you were wondering where some of the springs are on some lakes they are very evident today. They start out as small holes, but with the wind become large holes. It is good to keep the location of these springs in mind as it could save you from getting wet later.
