Fished a tourney yesterday and man my arms a sore! That is good! Couldn`t buy a fish deep anywhere on the lake. The winning bag was caught on a rock pile they found and stuck it out all day. Congrats out to them. The fish I found were on the wood, big wood, the bigger the better. Not around the edges where they are easy to jerk out ,but back in so you have to stick the nose of the boat in and thread your flippen stick through the limbs and kinda back out a bit so you can set the hook. Wow, hook into a 3 or 4lbr and try to get a net on them is a BLAST. I never lost a fish all day, looking for wood, knock knock, and that was a blessing. Over a three lb average and they were crushing jigs. My personal choice of bait is a strike king wild thing flippen tube texas rig on a gamagatsu wide gap hook. These stick fish!!!!!! Not sponsored just a believer. Took second by a 10th of a pound Tons of fun and not putting away the rods yet. Keep jerken Flip

I have also been getting good fish tight to wood for the past week on a few area lakes. I have had best success flipping a texas rigged Funky Monkey. Oh yea, shallow!! I have caught fish in just a cuople inches of water. Waiting to put gear away until the snow flies. The way the weather is today and the waves on the lake, it must be coming around the corner soon.

Goldenboy, I have heard you talk about the funky monkey before. Who manufactures it and where can I pick them up?
