Camping down there with the family for a simple get away. Will be down there fishing mostly evening and early morning hours.
If anyone is down there and sees the gray Champion, swing over and say HI!!!! I will have all sorts of cold beverages to share!!!
I had a great weekend camping at the lake. They have some of the best accomodations for ages of all. They have a HUGE playground, great area to park you boat, the landing is probably one of the best in the 7 county metro area. The restrooms/showers are always spotless, sterile clean. They even deliver a BIG bundle of firewood for $6 at your fire pit!!!
I have nothing but good things to say about this park. They even have a County ranger on site 24hrs (county operated).
Fishing on the other hand is still a bit tough. I had the opportunity to fish with Dave C. from the site. I caught a decent smallie and we both had a few bites, plus Dave had a good fish that came unbuttoned.
I did get out one more time, on my own and pulled in 3 smallies on a green tube. All were under 15 inches. Plus, I had a tuna of a smallie get unhooked half way to the boat. Had plenty of short hits…..But can’t complain. That was my first true experience in fishing with tubes (I really goofed up alot of hook sets Carolina rigging) Guess I’ll stick with my muskies and walleyes!!!!
