Had a business meeting in Waseca this morning and stopped by Clear Lake to take a look around. Dead crappies by the hundreds washed up along the south and east shorelines. Measured 5 to 8 inches. Some also shallow looked like they were ready to die. Motionless, tilted sideways and slowly finning themselves like they were trying to turn upright.
Just dead crappies, no bluegills, perch, northerns, bass or walleyes, just dead crappies. Asked a local guy what happened and he said he didn’t have a clue. So anyone know what is happening there?

    Hey,
My family used to camp there in the summer, and it happened that summer too. Well it didn’t seem to hurt the crapppie population, ice fishing is always good there. But I don’t really know why, mabey the heat gets too them?
