It was an expected slow opener on Cannon. From midnight water temp. went from near 55 down to 53 by 4 AM. Slip bobbers and leeches seemed to be the best presentation. Fish ranged from 13 to 19 inches. Fish lengths appear to be from 4 year classes and are well fed…could be the reason for a slower bite. All my fish were from 6 feet of water or less. Have not heard reports of any other lakes maybe someone else will chime in.
    Good Luck, TGIF

We took on Madison starting Saturday morning at 5am and again on Sunday at 6am. We picked up two on Saturday right away (before the wind and rain) that ran 14 and 15 inches. That was it but then again the wind kicked us off the lake (plus it was prett slow).
Sunday we hit one 19 incher right away and then that was it through noon. We were tossing and retrieving with crawlers and leeches. This is usually a succussful presentation. I wouldn’t take much stock in the report until the weather levels off. But none the less, It was nice to see the whites of a tail fin again.
    Best to all.

We also fished Cannon on Sat. morn for about 3 hours and yanked two. One was a nice keeper and the other was a beauty 27 incer that we let go. Pretty slow all around from what I heard. It’ll pick up with some warmer weather though.
