I seen the other post, but decided to make one of my own.

Hey guys I went for a drive today, I swung by a bunch of lakes, here’s what I found, Dora is pretty much all open, it’s has a bit of ice, but you could launch with out problem. Saber is wide open A couple guys I talked to at saber said the launch was iced in yesterday, Gorman is wide open. Sheilds is about 35% open or so, launch is iced in still, doubtful it will have ice on it long. Mazaska is probably about 20% again doubtful the ice will be there for too much longer. Hunt is wide open. Circle is open, but the ramp is in really poor condition, I think a 4×4 truck would prety much be manditory to launch there. Fox is wide open. Cody/phelps is wide open. And for anyone who ventures further north Cedar I believe is wide open, you can launch. Fish lake is not launchable yet, that part is still iced in, otherwise it looks ready to go.

Anyone fish these lakes? I tossed some little tube jigs today, at some lakes, I didn’t even get a tap . I’ve only fished sheilds, cedar and fish, feel free to pm me any heplful tips for and particular lakes mentioned (you don’t have give away a secret spot, or anything) maybe a good “go to bait”, maybe a general area to fish I like to try these lakes a couple times this summer, and if there are any listed that really are not worth my time, please by all means give a guy a hand.

If you apperciated my report, feel free to pm me a little help

Did you drive by the little bridge on Shields, where the crappies do their spring run??? Is the water open there yet???

I did not drive by that particular bridge, I did cast a ton of little bridges along my journey, with tube jigs, didnt even get a tap. As far is it seems they are still deep.
I would expect that area to be open, it seems that part of the lake indeed had a fair amount of ice off.

    Thanks Nick!

I’ll probably head down there one of these evenings to see if they are there now or not.

Everything is ice free on the Rochester area lakes area. In fact Lake Zumbro had 55-58.4 water temps last Saturday.
    Thanks, Bill

Blah, I ventured out yesterday, instead of taking the boat, we decided to try our luck at a littleshore fishing, on a coupe lakes, didn’t so much as get a tap, seen a bunch of fish jumping and flopping around out there, I believe they were carp. Either way I still had a good time with my All wheel drive, turbo powered car on the muddy dirt roads
