I gave it try while creek hopping about 2 weeks ago and got one bite there….it was an out of season species. There was enough water, but the wind was in the wrong direction. I was the only one there. TGIF

    I’m going there Saturday morning.

Anyone else going to be there?

Hey Gary, I’m working the Lake Pepin Walleye Classic Tournament this weekend so unable but would love to hear how you do. That area can be a hot bite for crappies in the spring. Thanks, Bill

tgif…how is the landing there this spring? If my hydrolic estimates are correct, you’ll be backing your vehicle half way out into the lake.

Yeah, Trigger1 your estimates are correct. This never used to be a problem with a smaller boat and higher water levels. There’s a washout hole from loading boats, but 10 ft past the where the end of the dock it looks pretty shallow again. Maybe we need to get someone with a front end loader to fix the problem. Have been out on the lake fishin’ crappies at all? I imagine that they should begin to cooperate in the shallow water once the weather stabilizes.

I spent a couple hours on Cannon tuning crankbaits and there wasn’t much going on there. Water temp on surface was 58 and air was 85. Hit some shallow areas for crappies on the lake, but no takers. Not a bad day to be out. I’ll be out there another 4-5 hours tuning crankbaits soon I hope. TGIF

Nothing going on for crappies at the creek bridge. Did catch a few nice sunnies, but no crappies.

It appears that the low water level is going to keep them away again this year………….
