Well I decided to hit the pond yesterday on 12-21. I was going to go with a co-worker but he backed out. Well I had the approval from the boss so I figured that I better not waste the free pass. So I decided to go solo.

Did not get onto the pond until around 1100 am after trying to find a way on the west side with my truck to no avail. I made it around to the east side where I should have went anyway and got on by Hunters and to the mud I went.

Caught around 15, with 5 being over’s and the largest was 26″. Kept a nice limit of 17-18″. It was not fast by any means but did catch them all on top of the flat, it seemed like when I went off the flat all I could catch was tullipe (sp?). Anyway had a really good flurrie of action from 2:45 to 3:30.

It was a nice day to fish outside, I did not even set up the house. Most of the time out there I had the flat to myself which was nice to. I did also catch a pout. All fish came off a minnow head and perch colored go devil, which has became my go to lure up there.

All in all not a bad day on the pond.

So did you drive your full size truck out to the mud via Hunters???? If so how much ice did you find?

Are the Tullibee’s going good off the flats? My son loves to catch them…and I love to smoke them! I just usually wait until after ‘eye season to chase them. Thanks.

Yes the tullies are going strong, lots of smaller fish this year which is good, but nonetheless your rod is bending so its a good thing….
