THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DULUTH HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
* TIMING AND LOCATION: SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE FROM ABOUT MIDDAY ON MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON… FROM THE BRAINERD LAKES AREA IN MINNESOTA EASTWARD TO THE SPOONER AND SHELL LAKE AREAS IN WISCONSIN. THE WATCH AREA ALSO INCLUDES THE COMMUNITIES OF AITKIN… HINCKLEY… AND GRANTSBURG.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: SIX INCHES OR MORE OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE.
* WINDS AND VISIBILITY: EASTERLY WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH MAY CAUSE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE SNOW… AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES.
* MAIN IMPACT: DRIVING IN THE WATCH AREA MAY BE HAZARDOUS AS ROADS BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.
