Off road travel is fine for any 4×4 pick-up or 4×4 SUV in our area. We have off road access openings plowed out along our main ice roads. We do have a bridge in place close to shore crossing the active ice crack that is 9’6″ wide that will handle wheel houses fine.

Good luck on the perch hunting this weekend!

Travel conditions off road on the main lake continue to be fine and unchanged from the past couple weeks via 4×4 truck or the bigger SUV’s. ATV and sled travel is fine as well.

Our lake access is still open with the bridge in place and will be as long as the weather stays stable. Call ahead or stop in to check as things could change from day to day, as usual. If the ice heave acts up too much or we get a snow/ wind event, we most likely will pull the plug.

Perch reports were fair to slow over the past weekend.

Ice travel on the main lake is still fine for all forms of vehicles, although snowmobiles might have trouble finding lube for the track system. Warm temps have most of the snow melted with some puddles scattered around on the ice surface.

Our access is still fine and will be open for the weekend(as of now that’s the plan). As temps continue to be spring-like, that could change at anytime so a call ahead to our office might be smart. The bridge is in place at the bottom of the ramp to cross the first few yards of ice and standing water.

    Update:

We closed the access at the Red Door today to vehicles(trucks and cars). We will be allowing ATV-Snowmoblies only at this time.

We received 10-12 inches of new snow today!

If you are planning a trip up to the lake, just bring the sled or atv along and you will be good to go!!

Big easterly winds today have moved the main lake ice for the first time this spring. Now with every wind change, the sheet will move and gradually get broken up. Ice out could be less than 2 weeks away.
