Perfect world I would have found away to get up to Mille Lacs Thursday or Friday night, but I had a day trip planned for Sunday night with a buddy.

So the moon disappeared, the clouds rolled in, the rain started, the fog moved in, and it was blacker than black on the lake. Other option was to stay home to watch the Vikings/Packers game but figured fishing would be a better choice.

Not having anything dialed in, we decided to fish the north/northwest side of the lake and just started trolling. The bite was slow, or I should say non-existant for quite awhile and I’m thinking that weather just killed it. Then we caught a fish for the box. Then nothing again for awhile. Finally we stumbled onto something and almost put a limit of keepers together real quickly, but no big fish. Called it quits about 9:30pm with fresh fish for dinner tonight. I’m guessing the fish we were on would have kept biting all night, not fast and furious by any means but it was consistant.

Here’s a surprise, Lazer Craw Super Rogue caught every fish but one.

That was actually my hot bait for the weekend! Took 4-27″ fish off it!
