Heading up to Mille Lacs this weekend. I can’t seem to find a boat launch near Isle. I know there are two in Father Hennepin, but I don’t want to buy the vehicle permit.
Do you know of any that are free?

    Thanks,
    Travis

Thains River Just south of Portside, and Liberty Beach north about 5 miles. With the water up, Thains should be OK. Liberty is brand new and very nice!

Cedar Creek is about 2-3 miles north of Isle, sometimes the Thaines gets shallow for large boats, heck even Cedar can get shallow, go with Tucks idea.

We launched out of cedar creek a few weeks ago. It was pretty shallow. Would be fine on a calm day but would hate to try and use it in any kind of waves.

    Tuck:

Is Thaines in the SE corner of Isle Bay??? If it is and there is enough water, it is a good landing or has been when I have been there with my 18′ Pro-V, 75hp Honda.

Liberty is certainly a very good ramp with a harbor and can get you a 1/3 of the way up the lake.

    Liberty Beach X3
It’s a new launch, semi middle of east side and has a bar and restuarant right next door. Never know when that might come in handy.

Yes it is. I had my 19 ft. Warrior in and out of there last year when the water was lower than now.

The new boat ramps at Liberty Beach are great with lots of parking and with the little harbor the wind is not an issue but as for the restaurant next to the ramps, it’s closing and I don’t mean for the winter. I was just there for a burger this last weekend and was told by the gal behind the bar that the owner is closing for good. I think she said around the 20th. So sad to hear.

I would be surprised to see Liberty closed for long. Great piece of property that will get snapped up fast by a new owner.
