Made it out on Mille Lacs a few times over the weekend. Pretty nice out. Saturday was a little breezy but I think that was a nice than Sunday’s calm winds and having to deal with the little white flies. Found some fish out in 25′ to 28′ up in the NE corner. Caught them pulling cranks and a few rigging. We also found a few in closer to shore in the 8 to 10 foot range pulling crank baits. Didnt catch a ton of fish over the weekend but did get enough for a few meals. First meal of fish I had all year and it was very good.

Thanks for taking me out on Saturday Jon. I have to return the favor on the river down here.

Anyone else out over the weekend. I did hear a few reports of some guys doing pretty good up there this last weekend.

I have not been up for a spell. However, I’ll be up cranking at night this Sat. With the water temp. down I think the night cranking in the shallows will start early this year. Can’t wait!
Should be a great Oct. Anyone else fishing the full moon this weekend?

I might try it this weekend but have never been up there in the fall. Any suggestions or advice as to depth and areas would be appreciated. I promise a report in return good bad or soso. Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the report. My brother and I are going to be fishing Friday through Sunday this next weekend. Will fish some perch during day along with trying some leadcore w/cranks for walleyes and some night fishing as well. Has anyone heard of any good perch reports from North end this past weekend? Also, I was curious what the water temps were last weekend? Will post a quick report when we get back.

    Water temps where high 50’s.
We only caught one perch trolling on the shallow rocks. Didnt get to spend much time looking for them. Maybe Red Door will chime in this week with some more reports.

I dont usually spend much time on the lake until late fall night fishing. My thought was after the little fishing we did over the weekend and where able to get some fish most likely there is a decent bite going on.

I am heading up Wednesday and staying at the Red Door. We have only fished that area once, that being this summer.
I have pretty much kept my Fall time Mille lacs fishing over in the Mry Mar and Garrison Areas. This will be a new area to try for my wife and I.

We are expecting our first grand child today, as of right now my Daughter in law is in labor at the Brainerd Hospital.
The wife is in route and I will be leaving as soon as I get my work scheduled planned here.

It will be an exciting week.

    You’re welcome! Fun trip.

The lake is shaping up nicely. Anytime you can get out is good right now.

Water temp on Hunter’s Bobber cam is 57 degrees this morning… I’m planning on spending a few hours on Friday night checking out a couple of my favorite rock to weed transitions.

Doubtful that I’ll make it out during the day due to archery hunting, but the daytime crankbait bite in 23-27 FOW along just about any sand to mud transition pulling small jointed raps and #4 Salmo hornets continues to be on fire.
