some nice perch

the mpls firemen had their annual perch contest over the 17th and 18th, and there was some nice perch caught. the first day winner was 1.25lbs and 1.27lbs on the second day. there was about 40 people that fished over the two days. nobody caught alot of fish but the ones that were, were nice fish. i can’t say enough about george and his staff at hunters point. this was the third year we have had our get together at hunters point and i set the whole thing up for next year already. two of the guy’s that stayed in one of his rentals were in the money on both days, third on the first day and first and second place on the second day. that really made george happy. george runs a first class operation all the way, from the guy’s in the plow trucks who put us on some spots that were producing fish, to the cooks and bartenders, everybody made sure that we were happy. i know where i am going to set up on saturday for the liberty beach contest. good luck to everybody that is going to be up here fishing on saturday……….tom fellegy

should be about 5 or 6 of us out by the hunters point rental houses. look for a 3/4 ton pewter chevy with a fire sticker on the topper, and a new maroon chevy with a topper and maybe a green s-10 pick-up. depending on how crowded it is out there we are just going to drill holes and move around. fished it today and somebody was in my holes, i guess word travels fast up here. drilled some new ones about 50 feet away and fished most of the afternoon , not even one. the guy in yesterdays holes got 3 that i seen. hope to meet ya on the ice saturday…………………….tom fellegy

I plan to be on the lake Friday

i would be out there friday myself, but i got put on 8 hour days. starting friday and all next week i have haz-mat training.

Sucks to be you and have to go thru that training instead of fishing!!!! LOL

it’s not the training, it’s the hours! i normaly work a 48 hour shift and off for 4 days. i haven’t worked a regular 8 hour day in over 11 years. i will have about a 180 mile round trip every day next week. a small price to pay to have the view that i wake up to here on cove bay.
