Hey guys, I’ve been getting some advice on resorts “behind the scenes” here and thought I just as well open this up so others might offer up ideas and anyone else looking can read this too. So, what are your thoughts on the best resorts for a good price on the North West side of the lake (Garrison area or close to it). We’ll have three guys going this fall. So far I’ve gotten mixed reviews on Pike’s Point and Twin Pines – some in favor and some against each. All feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Wade,

I don’t have any resort experience for you, but I can share my opinion on the distances to travel on that side of the lake. I’ve stayed on the East side and traveled around to the west side to fish just because of the wind. The ride there, isn’t so bad, but the ride home at 6:00am can be long. This is when it would be nice to be staying close by. I guess depending on what you are looking for, I think most resorts will suffice for three stinky fisherman. For me, I’m just looking for a bed to crash in, your usually so tired after a night on the water, a bed of rocks would be sufficient. Good luck!! Maybe I’ll see you up there this fall.

Yep, that’s why we’re looking to stay on the north or west side: wind. Gonna fish close to the launch.

We’ll be up there last week September. Hope to see ya there!

Well, we’re gonna go with the Red Door! It got thumbs up from James and Derek and I think Dustin might have approved too. Nobody had a bad word to say about it.

Hopefully we’ll see some of ya up there. Thanks guys!

Stayed at the Red Door a few times. It is nice, dollar for dollar. The cabins are very clean and nice and the kitchens have everything you need, so bring food to cook.

I agree with the Red Door. You cannot go wrong. Tha access is a little shallow, but nice none the less!

Hey Wade, when you guys make it up next fall we should get together and say Hi!
I have been working in Garrison and I drive by the Red Door everyday. I would agree that it’s a nice place to stay. They have a boat harbor to dock the boat also!

Sounds like a great idea Bobber! Ryan Hale will be with me too. We both want to meet up with guys from the site here. Sept. 26th-29th are the dates we’ll be there. We’ll have to sort out some details when it gets a little closer to that time. I can’t wait!
