I’m sure all you guys on here are like me and go to church every Sunday….. , so this last Sunday I decided skipping church wouldn’t hurt anyone and a buddy of mine and I went up to the big water. We left town around 5am and we were fishing by 6:30 and had our first walleye in the boat 10 minutes later. We stayed on the west side and north west sides of the lake fishing the mud flats. Pulling rigs with leeches and a 6 to 7′ snell seemed to be working best. It definatley wasn’t fast and furious for us on Sunday but we did manage 19 fish with no real big ones, but a good handful of healthy looking fish in the 19-21″ range. I wish I could tell you a pattern that we were finding these fish, but we struggled to put a pattern together. Whether is was the changed in weather from the past few days or just that the fish are in transition, making the moves from the shallows to the deep yet. We caught fish in 18′ of water all the way to 32′ of water. Anyone else finding fish in all depths? Anyways, good luck out there boys, I think June should be good to us this year.

Nice report Roger and congrats on your successful Sunday outing! We are certainly ahead of last year in regard to water temps and fish moving out into the open basin areas. Mid June should be primetime!
