I usually start trying to locate schools out in the Basin when the water temps hit around 65. I know they are out there earlier then that, but they really start to school up it seems around that temp!

What has been the temp up there recently?

We had 62-64 this weekend, for a surface temp.

Fished Friday and covered a lot of water scouting for some suspended fish. Never really found anything that impressed me but we did manage to catch a few bigger fish anyways. You can read my report here: Crankin the open basin of Mille Lacs in May!
