What size drift socks do you guys carry in your boat? How many do you carry? and What style boat? I am interested in what you use for controlling your drift speeds and how you like your set up. I carry a 50″ and a 30″ in my 1800 Pro V tiller.

With my Ranger 620 I always had at least 2 pretty big (Magnums). If the wind was forecasted to be worse I brought a 3rd.

I have a boat similar to yours–1890 Warrior tiller powered by 90 hp Merc. I use a 50″ mainly for drifting in moderate weather. I have 2 30″ that are carbon copies in length of rope. I use these if I am getting pushed a certain way and want to “steer” the drift so my boat is aligned a little better. Also, as James Holst showed in a trolling bag video, I use the 2 30″ to slow my troll when I choose to use the big motor.

175 alumacraft trophy I use a 40 inch clipped to the bow when trolling with the big motor – slows me down enough, but I lose some steering control. I am thinking of 2 smaller ones for trolling & would also be curious of other people’s setup/success

What is the smallest sock made? I was looking for a 20 in. sock for trolling, but the smallest one that I’ve found is 25 inches.
