I’d say yes, but I’m concerned about weaving in and out of the bobber fisherman.

I’m hoping to see some stable weather leading up to the opener. I think that will play a bigger role. The fish will be there and if they are anything like the eye out west on the border lakes, they will be biting good!

welcome to ido. you might want to look at the rules… it sounds like you are going to mille lacs for opener? there is no night fishing on mille lacs until june 14 i believe so i would check the rules. how deep were u trolling last year? i’ve fished up there but not on opener

actually i know that’s the rule. no fishing from 10pm to 6am and no boats from that time can even have fishing equip. in their boat.

its not a loophole. the law states the nightban runs from 10pm on 5/17 to 6/14.

I’ll have the trolling rods packed. If they don’t bite at night, I think the warmer water might help the daytime trolling bite.

Pick your poison. It will be like a typical memorial day bite or early june bit.
Corks, rigs, and crakbaits should go. With water temps. where they are at you should be able to pick your technique and still put fish in the boat. You may not be able to fish the same opening spot you did last year but put your brain in fast forward and think memorial day/early June spots.
We could even have a bug hatch by the second weekend or so. Keep in mind this will move the baitfish – which in turn will move the eyes. Can’t wait! Put the hammer on em’

x2. I have not seen water temps but you might also want to pack some crawlers and spinners if those water temps are around 55 degrees.

Also during the mornings and day look at the 20-25 foot transitions areas.
