April 26, 2010 at 4:06 pm #866915Wow. That was a good place to eat. Had my grooms diner there years ago. Sure hope they dont go the way of Malmo bay supper club and not rebuild.
April 26, 2010 at 5:08 pm #866940Not good, They had the best food in the area, hands down. I hope they rebuild. Anyone know the cause yet??
Wallster ><((((>April 26, 2010 at 7:13 pm #866986Hopefully not related but the restaurant was for sale… Sadly I doubt it will be rebuilt by current ownership.

When people can remember you or pretend to remember you that is the mark of a very good staff imho. We ate once and only drank the second time, but it was the best place on the north end bar none!!!

Nobody know for sure. There was another restaurant that burned the same day in Deerwood. There have been MANY break-ins around the lake recently. Mostly at restaurants/bars and ones with pull-tabs especially.

If in fact it is a low life / crack head breaking into these places everybody take note. Lock your stuff up, empty the boats over the opener. If they have the balls to commit arson slicing a boat cover to get at your stuff, they won’t give it a second thought.
April 30, 2010 at 7:37 pm #868315Carlsona was broken into the week prior to burning… I know there are a lot of rumors going around, but just today I heard that it sounds like investigators think the cause may have been electrical.
The good news is that ownership is planning to rebuild as soon as possible!!May 8, 2010 at 11:45 am #870469One week and counting!
Starting on the Thursday after the Opener, our website will, again, feature weekly fishing reports.
The ground is white in Wealthwood this morning. Thank goodness for a late Opener this year?
Water levels are fine, although the lake has dropped a few inches since ice-out.
Fishing predictions are good for next Saturday, weather permitting. Water temps are late May levels, with a bug hatch not too far off. So any type of fishing, depth and location should be good to go.
See you all next week!

Not that the break in is, but the fact that they are rumored to be rebuilding is great news!!!

May 10, 2010 at 3:12 pm #870826The newly remodeled docks and harbor at The Red Door! Longer docks, lower to the water for easier getting into and out of boats and more bumpers to protect your boats.
marmikePosts: 118May 10, 2010 at 4:08 pm #870857I saw the new docks when I was up last week.Very nice!
How does Steve’s sparkly red boat look next to the new docks?
I am looking forward to the opener.
See you all Thursday.Mike #185
May 10, 2010 at 9:31 pm #870935Wow! The old docks there were a lot nicer than many others around the lake. Very nice upgrade. Nice to see a resort up there putting a lot of time, work and money back into their resort! Nice Job Red Door!

May 11, 2010 at 7:52 pm #871280WOW! Between the cabins, new docks, and your great service I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else! See you soon!

I agree! The cabins are the best, looking forward to another great summer vacation this year.
May 13, 2010 at 2:54 pm #871719Great stuff. However, I did like the challenge getting up on the old docks after sitting in the boat all night.
May 15, 2010 at 9:46 am #872217A nice light south breeze and clear skies will make for a nicer than one could ask for Opener. Good luck to everyone!
May 15, 2010 at 2:34 pm #872222Early reports are quite fishy! Lake is calming down to nothing. Bluebird weather. Catches are from all depths including the deeper sides of the mudflats into 6′.
Pretty busy on the lake.
May 16, 2010 at 1:31 pm #872294From Wealthwood Shores, Opening Day reports from our guests were consistently good. Limits by noon of keepers were not uncommon. And example was the perennial Opening Day Red Door group, the Wilfahrt gang from New Ulm. These three anglers were basking in the warm afternoon sun, looking forward to an evening fish fry using part of their early morning limit of keepers.
We truly want to say THANK YOU to everyone of you who chose The Red Door for your 2010 Lake Mille Lacs Opening Day destination. We surely look forward to and will welcome the opportunity to host you and your friends the rest of the season.
Watch for our weekly (Thurdays)fishing report on our website!
