So I finally pulled the plug a few weeks back, made a call to Hunter Winfield and reserved the 20′ ice castle this coming Monday. Then I get a call from school today, one of the twins got pushed ice skating and broke his arm. Just got off the phone with Margie at Hunter, told her to keep the deposit and we’ll apply it at a later date, she is very cool. As far as the boy, he told me he could still go (I’m fine Dad, it’s nothing!), gotta love ’em! Ah well, kids are more important than fishing by just a little bit. So when he gets the cast, do you think it would be ok to have a jiggle stick mounted on it? CZ

Sorry to hear about that Bob. I have heard that kids with casts on make for great dead sticks. I hope he is OK and you will be up there before you know it.

    Good Luck,

Just think of it this way. If it wasn’t for bad luck you would have no luck at all. I know that doesnt help. Here’s to a speedy recovery.

Thanks gang! His name is Marshall, it would probably do his spirits good to see the replies, I told him he better heal up good before cat fish start biting, he’ll need a good arm then as he knows!

no reason why Marshall couldn’t have the ice fishing rod adaptor installed on his cast! It is a bit tough to get the waxies onto the hook with one hand though! Hang in there kid, and chicks dig hockey wound stories.

    Hang in there buddy.

My 10 year old son broke his femur this past fall at football practice. It cost him his deer season, but he’s been out-fishing me all winter. Plus he’s looking forward to trying to hunt down his second gobbler this coming spring.
