Well, we headed up to the pond again Friday afternoon-Sunday morning and had very different results to the prior escapade. We worked the mud on a break between 29-30 fow in the father-in-laws fancy shack. The bite was very good almost consistent during the daylight periods with an occasional eye and many smaller perch and lots of good tullibee. The Walleye fun really got started at 2a.m. Saturday morning with a 27″ eye! So we continued with a good bite all day Saturday but, only could manage a couple 10.5″ Perch to take home. That evening at 7:30 another 27″ eye decided to say hi!! Well, needless to say here is the tallie… Walleye, 5-throwbacks… 13,14,(slot) 20,22,27 & another 27 A fun weekend and a busy one at that. I will post some pics if you guys tell me how? One note: The wife and I lost a monster in the HOLE, made those other 27’s look moderate Peace, JAG

Sounds like it was a great trip! Did you move around at all or stick to the shack?

The funny thing is we always portable it and drill tons of holes on the move. This go round I had the wife along also so we just sat in the house. I guess you could say it was a pleasant surprise…

Great report! That’s the thing about Mille Lacs, someone, somewhere, is out there whacking them, no matter how tough you think the bite is!
