Access to the lake, even by foot, is hardly possible now. The wind is moving the big ice sheet and now has 10 to 100 yd. stretches of open water along shore in many areas. If this trend holds, ice out will be close to or be a record early date.
The sap run from our maples was short but big on some days. Between the two crews, over 50 gallons of syrup will be bottled by the end of this week.
New docks are in the works for our harbor this spring, as the dredger has already done his thing.
