Merry Christmas!
Just wanted to give a quick report on the bite this week. Our guide team has spent alot of time on the ice this week checking more spots. We have been finding fish on all types of structure. Rock piles, deep gravel bars and most mud flats are holding walleyes. Last week didn’t seem to matter what size spoon you were using, but this week the walleyes had favorites. If you are marking fish but just getting lookers, try up or down sizing. Color didn’t seem to matter as much as size did this past week.
With the expected snowfall over the next couple days, be careful out there with your ATV/Snowmobile. The numerous ice shelves and heaves will be covered by new snow.
The winds the last couple days blew open some big cracks. The ice is still shifting and with this heavy snow could make things even more unsettled. Always use caution when out on the lake.
The fishing remains very good, with lots of limits of walleyes along with several big walleyes.
Have a happy holidays and we hope to see you on the ice!
