Did a bit of scouting today up the west side. Found 7-10 inches 1/4 mile out. The bad part is, under the thicker ice where it was wind blown there is over 3 feet of slush under the ice. Each hole has to be carefully cleaned. Bring your long handled dipper
Had a 36 inch pike get buried in the slush on the way up. Not to mention losing other fish. It is a pain and I don’t know what areas will be like this. But its not pretty. I’m guessing this slushy area goes from just south of Indian point down to rocky reef.
Sorry to bring the bad news. You can make it work if you’re a house sitter, but hopping holes is impossible
